SOME BLOODY EXCITING NEWS FROM ME!!!
This just in in the world of 'how the heck is my life going this way and when is the shoe gonna drop?"
Hi babies!!!
Thanks so much for all the love on my first post, you guys are truly the best.
It has been a WILD 72 hours for me, with the giveaway with B&TJ taking off (go enter if you haven’t) and the Jo episodes soaring in the charts, I am just riding the high of people loving this work as much as I do. But… What has made it even more wild is that…. Drum roll please…
I’M PART OF THE iHEART RADIO PODCAST NETWORK NOW!!!
Can you believe it?! I can’t!!!! I am still pinching myself!!!!
I created a set of goals when I was first creating the podcast and one of them was to build the pod for a year, then approach some podcast networks/hosting platforms to see if they would be interested in bringing me into the fold. Never in a million years did I expect to be approached by a network, particularly not so fresh into the ~*pOdCaStInG jOuRnEy*~ but here we are and I could not be more grateful or excited.
So, what does it mean for the pod?
Luckily, nothing changes on your end aside from you’ll hear a few ads throughout the pod! I am still creating the thing, interviewing, filming, editing, and doing all the content creation. iHeart are helping me with the side of podcasting that I didn’t love working on - finding sponsorships and advertisements. They are helping me try and make the podcast a bit more viable in terms of income, which in turns means I am getting money for the 30+ hours of work I am doing on the podcast every week. Which, as someone who has 2 weeks left of PPL payments, I am very grateful for!
Is there going to be a sudden influx of money? Will I be wearing exclusively Karen Walker and driving a brand new porsche yelling “WOW I WOULD HATE TO BE POOR LIKE YOU” out of my car window? No, I am still very much a baby podcast. But iHeart see my potential and believe in the idea and they’re ready to come along with me for the ride. They also have so many podcast and social media-savvy people who I can tap in to for help!
I know change is scary, and this podcast definitely feels like my baby, but I said to myself going in to the meeting that if I didn’t like the team or vibe with them, then I just wouldn’t jump on the network. No harm, no foul. But I met their liaison and absolutely loved her right away. She knew her shit, has time for all my dumb questions, and spoke with me openly and honestly. And that’s all you can ask for from someone you’re going into a partnership of any kind with!
So thank you guys for being such an engaged and fantastic audience, because without you I can’t imagine I would have caught their eye. I am so excited for the future and what this ~*JoUrNeY*~ with iHeart is going to look like. I hope you’re excited too!
I’ll leave you with the unhinged announcement video I am going to post on my socials tonight….
LOOOOOVEEEE YOOOUUUUUU!!!!!!
